Bank of Industry Wins Award For Significant Role in Financial Inclusion And Sustainable Development

Nigeria’s oldest development finance institution Bank of Industry (BOI), has been awarded with two prestigious awards for its significant role in financial inclusion and sustainable development in the country.

The financial institution was honored with two SERAS Awards at the recently concluded Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards also known as the SERAS CSR Awards.

BOI was awarded the ‘Best Company in Financial Inclusion’ and the ‘Most Effective MDA/Parastatal in Sustainable Development’.

The bank was recognized for its remarkable efforts in championing sustainable development by supporting the growth of MSMEs through its Intervention platform via programs such as the NG Cares, MSME Survival Fund, and the State Enterprise Empowerment Programme (SEEP).

Speaking on the awards received, the managing director/ chief executive officer of BOI Dr. Olasupo Olusi said 

“This recognition is a testament to the Bank’s commitment to supporting the growth of MSMEs and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria. We remain committed to employing sustainable business practices in our operations in line with our strategic objectives.”

BOI has a mandate to transform Nigeria’s industrial sector by providing financial assistance for the establishment of large, medium, and small enterprises, and the rehabilitation of ailing ones. It also aims to drive expansion, diversification, and modernization of existing enterprises.
