Kuda to Launch Multi-Currency Digital Wallet in Canada, Following Securement of Payment License

Kuda Technologies, the target Global-backed parent company of Kuda Bank, is preparing to introduce a multi-currency digital wallet designed to simplify remittances for Africans, having recently secured a payment license in Canada.

Scheduled for release in Q3 2024, the new digital wallet will cater to Africans living in Canada by offering a convenient, instant, and reliable means of sending money to their home countries. Babs Ogundeyi, CEO of Kuda, revealed that the wallet will support multiple currencies, including GBP, EUR, USD, and CAD, allowing users to easily add funds and transfer money to African countries through a network of trusted partners.

In his words,

“With the launch of our digital wallet in Canada, we will offer Africans living in the country, including recent migrants, a simple, transparent, and cost-effective way to send money home, ultimately improving their financial wellbeing and strengthening their connections to their countries of origin,”

This initiative aims to address the increasing demand for efficient and secure remittance services among the African diaspora in Canada, enhancing their capacity to support their families and communities back home.

He further explained that Kuda is leveraging cutting-edge technology and strategic partnerships to ensure users have a seamless experience on the platform while aiding their loved ones.

“The new digital wallet by Kuda is set to transform the remittance landscape for Africans in Canada, offering a user-friendly platform that prioritizes security and speed,” Ogundeyi added.
