Compiled in collaboration with market research firm Statista, CNBC’s “World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024” report features companies of all sizes across various market categories. Each segment is unranked, with companies listed alphabetically, emphasizing the diverse and dynamic nature of the fintech industry.

Fintech companies considered for the report underwent rigorous analysis by Statista, which evaluated over 2,000 eligible firms between March and May 2024. The evaluation included both general KPIs and segment-specific KPIs, with an overall weighting of 40% for general KPIs and 60% for segment-specific ones.

The inclusion of Flutterwave, PalmPay, Piggyvest and Kuda on this prestigious list underscores the strength and resilience of Africa’s fintech sector. These companies have demonstrated exceptional growth, innovation, and the ability to address unique market needs, earning their place among the world’s leading fintech firms.
