Jaiz Bank Named 2024 Global Most Promising Islamic Bank at GIFA Awards
Jaiz Bank, Nigeria’s pioneer non-interest bank, has been awarded the title of “Most Promising Islamic Bank” at the 2024 Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA). The prestigious accolade was presented during the Global Islamic Finance Summit (GIFS) and awards ceremony held in the picturesque Republic of Maldives.
Professor Humayon Dar, Chairman of GIFA, announced Jaiz Bank as the overall winner in this category, surpassing two other top nominees. He noted that the GIFA Awards Committee conducted a thorough evaluation of several institutions within the same category, with Jaiz Bank emerging as the best due to its remarkable growth potential, innovation, and financial performance.
Upon receiving the award, Jaiz Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Haruna Musa, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff. He highlighted the importance of the award as a key milestone in the bank’s strategic vision to become one of Africa’s leading non-interest financial institutions in the next five years.
This is not the first recognition Jaiz Bank has received from GIFA. The bank previously won the “Most Improved Islamic Bank” award in 2020 and 2021, further reinforcing its leadership and impact within the Islamic finance industry.
