MTN Fintech Revolutionizes School Fees Payments in South Sudan, Introduces Groundbreaking Solution

MTN Fintech has introduced a groundbreaking solution to simplify school fee payments in South Sudan. The new product allows parents and guardians to easily pay school fees using their mobile phones, eliminating the need for cash. This innovative approach is expected to significantly enhance convenience, safety, and affordability for families.

The initiative aligns with the South Sudanese government’s efforts to digitize payments and reduce the reliance on cash. By offering a convenient and secure platform for school fee payments, MTN Fintech is contributing to the overall development of the country.

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction has praised MTN for its innovative approach and highlighted the positive impact on safety. Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of General Education and Instruction, David Lowela Ladu, Director General of Basic and Secondary Education, commended MTN for its innovative approach to contributing to the country’s development. He highlighted the platform’s significant impact on enhancing safety by reducing the risk of theft and robbery associated with carrying large amounts of cash.

To use the service, parents or guardians can simply deposit money into their MoMo wallets and dial 2003*2#. By entering their child’s student number, they can view the due amount and complete the payment. An SMS confirmation will be sent, providing a record of the transaction. Schools will also receive notifications of payments and update student accounts accordingly.

This new service is poised to revolutionize the way school fees are paid in South Sudan, offering a more efficient, secure, and convenient experience for parents and guardians.
