Paymob Brings Apple Pay to Egypt, Transforming the Digital Payments Landscape

Paymob, a leading financial services enabler in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), now allows consumers in Egypt to use Apple Pay for purchases in-store, in-app, and online. This follows the recent launch of the payment method in Egypt, enabling the Paymob merchant network to offer customers a seamless, secure, and private payment experience.

With Apple Pay supported by advanced authentication features such as Face ID, Touch ID, and device passcodes, Paymob anticipates that this integration will reduce cart abandonment, drive sales, and meet the increasing demand for modern digital payment solutions.

This milestone underscores Paymob’s commitment to empowering businesses of all sizes to thrive in the digital economy. By providing access to cutting-edge technologies, Paymob aims to increase sales, fuel growth, and enhance customer experiences for its merchants.

“This is a pivotal moment for Egypt’s payments landscape. With Apple Pay now available, merchants have access to a solution loved by consumers globally. The widespread adoption of Apple Pay today demonstrates its transformative potential. At Paymob, we are committed to enabling businesses to tap into this market potential, driving their growth and success in the digital economy.” – Mina Makar, VP of Product, Paymob

Apple Pay also allows customers to make faster and more convenient purchases using their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, eliminating the need to create accounts or repeatedly input card details, shipping, and billing information.

Since its inception, Paymob has been at the forefront of innovation in the region. In 2018, it became the first fintech company to receive the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) Payments Facilitator license. Today, Paymob offers merchants over 50 payment methods, enabling them to accept payments across multiple channels and further solidifying its position as a leader in the digital payments space.
