The nPerf Barometer report, encompassing data collected from January 1 to December 31, 2024, meticulously analyzed the performance of Nigeria’s major mobile operators – MTN, Airtel, and Globacom – across key performance indicators (KPIs) such as download speed, upload speed, latency, and video streaming quality.
MTN Dominates:
The report unequivocally declared MTN the market leader, excelling across all key performance areas.
* Superior Performance: MTN demonstrated exceptional performance in download speed, upload speed, latency, and video streaming, establishing its dominance.
* 4G Leadership: MTN solidified its pioneering role in 4G technology, achieving remarkable improvements in upload speeds.
While not surpassing MTN, Airtel showcased impressive performance in specific areas. Airtel emerged as a key player, demonstrating strong performance in browsing and video streaming experiences, underscoring its commitment to enhancing user experience.
Globacom, while continuing its steady progress, demonstrated notable improvements in its overall score, contributing positively to the overall dynamism of the Nigerian mobile internet market.
9mobile was not included in the report due to an insufficient test share, falling below the 5% threshold for inclusion.
