Madica Expands Startup Investments, Backs Four New African Tech Companies

Madica, an investment program dedicated to supporting early-stage African startups, has announced its latest round of funding, backing four innovative tech-driven companies: Medikea, Motherbeing, Pixii Motors, and ToumAI.

Launched in 2022 under fintech-focused VC firm Flourish Ventures, Madica aims to bridge critical gaps in Africa’s startup ecosystem by addressing limited access to capital, investor shortages, inadequate mentorship, and the need for structured growth support.

With this latest round, Madica has doubled its portfolio, adding:

  • Medikea (Tanzania) – An e-health platform enhancing healthcare accessibility.
  • Motherbeing (Egypt) – An AI-driven wellbeing service focused on women’s health.
  • Pixii Motors (Tunisia) – A mobility startup developing sustainable transport solutions.
  • ToumAI (Morocco) – A customer experience platform leveraging AI.

Each startup has received up to $200,000 in funding and will participate in an 18-month structured program, which includes:
✅ A personalized curriculum tailored to their business needs.
Hands-on mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
Two fully funded immersion trips to key startup hubs in Cape Town and London.

Beyond financial support, the startups will also benefit from executive coaching and access to Madica’s global investor network, enhancing their chances for follow-on funding and long-term success.

Madica remains committed to gender diversity, ensuring at least 50% female leadership across its portfolio—a goal it has already surpassed.

With investments now spanning eight countries and six sectors, the program continues to empower African founders with the resources and expertise needed to build scalable, sustainable businesses.
