Network International and Airtel Money Expand Digital Payment Solutions Across Africa

Network International (Network), a leading digital commerce enabler in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), has partnered with Airtel Money, the mobile money platform for Airtel Africa, to roll out advanced digital payment solutions across key African markets, starting with Uganda. Additional activations are planned across Africa and Francophone countries in 2025.

Enhancing Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion

Through this partnership, Network International will provide a range of payment processing solutions, including:

  • Transaction processing
  • Card management
  • Fraud prevention
  • APIs sandbox
  • Reconciliation and settlement
  • Online access for Airtel users

Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa, and Co-Head Group Processing at Network International, emphasized the company’s commitment:
“We aim to cover significant ground on our Airtel rollouts this year after going live in Uganda. We are excited to enhance Airtel’s capabilities, drive the success of Mobile Network Operators, and contribute to financial inclusion across the continent.”

Expanding Digital Commerce Across Africa

Network International delivers technology-driven payment solutions to merchants and financial institutions, offering acquiring and processing services alongside a comprehensive suite of value-added services. The company operates in 50 countries across MEA, including 40+ African markets.

Airtel Africa, a leading telecommunications and mobile money provider, operates in 14 African countries, serving over 140 million customers, including 60 million data users and 36 million Airtel Money subscribers.

With this partnership, Network International and Airtel Money are paving the way for seamless digital transactions, boosting financial inclusion and expanding the digital economy across Africa.
