Baobab Network Announces The Acquisition of Reflector Marketing to Further Strengthen Their Support For African Startups 

Baobab, Africa’s leading accelerator that provides early-stage startups with Capital, has acquired South African-based strategy and branding agency Reflector Marketing to further strengthen its support for African startups.

This acquisition signifies Baobab Network’s dedication to providing comprehensive support and resources to startups across Africa, further solidifying its position as a key player in the region’s startup landscape. 

Commenting on the acquisition, Toby Hanington, Co-Founder of Baobab, said the move epitomized Baobab’s ambitious plans and long-term commitment to investing across Africa. 

In his words,

“Baobab has made no secret that we want to become the leading early-stage investor across Africa. To do so, we’re always thinking about what value we create for founders, on top of our capital investment. We’ve worked with the Reflector team since early 2023, and the move the acquire them is a testament to the work they’ve already done with our portfolio. We have incredibly ambitious long-term growth plans and bringing in Klyne and his team will expedite those.”

Baobab provides founders with the early-stage capital and hands-on support they need to unlock growth and build world-class startups. The company has invested in 14 African countries with over 55 million follow-on funding raised by companies, and a combined valuation of $225M+.

Founded in 2022 by Klyne Maharaj, Reflector Marketing has established itself as a specialist agency offering strategic marketing, branding, and digital services tailored to startups’ needs.
