AZA Finance Subsidiary, BT Payment Services Granted Payments Service Provider (PSSP) Licence in Nigeria
BT Payment Services Nigeria Limited (BT Payment), a subsidiary of global fintech company AZA Finance, has received a Payment Service Provider (PSSP) license from the Central Bank of Nigeria. This milestone enables BT Payment to directly facilitate Nigerian naira collections and payments for its customers in Nigeria, including corporates, fintechs, NGOs, and other organizations, enhancing transaction efficiency and affordability.
Previously, BT Payment operated through licensed partners in Nigeria, but with its new PSSP license, it can now directly offer faster, cost-effective services to businesses operating within the country. “We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional Nigerian fintechs over the years, and are excited to join their ranks as a licensed payments service provider,” shared Elizabeth Rossiello, CEO and founder of AZA Finance. “Nigeria’s currency is increasingly in demand globally as organizations expand into the continent, and we’re eager to deepen our commitment and presence here.”
This license is one of several expansions AZA Finance has announced, marking a broader strategy for 2024. AZA Finance, which has been serving African and global markets for over 11 years, recently added Egypt, Cameroon, Zambia, Brazil, and India to its roster of supported countries. These new markets join a broad portfolio that includes Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, Botswana, and major international markets like the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
This year, AZA Finance has also received significant accolades, including recognition as a semi-finalist for the Milken-Motsepe Prize, a top 5 spot among inspiring workplaces in the Middle East and Africa by Inspiring Workplaces, and the best use of technology in business payments by the Paytech Awards. CEO Elizabeth Rossiello was additionally honored as Fintech Leader of the Year by Fintech Awards London.
For those interested in partnerships or exploring AZA Finance’s payment, foreign exchange, or treasury services, company executives will be attending several key industry events in December: the Milken Middle East and Africa Summit, the Africa Financial Industry Summit (AFIS), and the UK-Francophone West & Central Africa Trade & Investment Forum (WCAF III).
