Rawbank Renews Strategic Partnership With Visa

1 min read

Rawbank has announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with Visa, extending nearly 15 years of collaboration focused on strengthening the financial ecosystem in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The renewed agreement is aimed at driving innovation, improving payment security, and expanding financial inclusion across the country.

The partnership builds on Rawbank’s ongoing efforts to modernise financial infrastructure, encourage the growth of e-commerce, and increase the adoption of digital payments. A major area of focus will be transaction security, with plans to deploy tokenisation technology to make digital payments safer and more reliable for consumers and businesses.

As part of the renewed collaboration, Rawbank and Visa will also support small and medium-sized enterprises through the introduction of new business solutions and expense management tools. These initiatives are designed to help professionalise local businesses and improve financial management within the entrepreneurial sector.

To respond to changing consumer behaviour and the growing demand for mobile payments, Rawbank plans to roll out virtual cards and Companion Cards. The partnership will also expand programmes targeted at women, young people, and entrepreneurs, including the Visa Academia Card, which aims to integrate more Congolese citizens into the formal financial system.

Through this renewed partnership, Rawbank and Visa seek to strengthen their positions as key drivers of digital transformation, contributing to a more inclusive, connected, and efficient economy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
