Cairo, Egypt – The 8th Africa Fintech Forum 2026 is set to take place on Wednesday, 28th October 2026 at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, bringing together senior leaders, regulators, financial institutions, technology experts and fintech innovators for a high-level conversation on the future of fintech and digital finance in Africa.

Under the overarching theme “The Future of Fintech in Africa,” the one-day forum will examine how regulation, technology and financial-sector innovation are reshaping Egypt’s digital finance ecosystem and creating opportunities for wider regional growth. The agenda places a strong focus on instant payment infrastructure and wallet interoperability, regulated digital lending, AI-powered underwriting, embedded finance, merchant and MSME digitisation, cross-border remittances and regional scaling.

The forum will feature more than 20 industry speakers across leadership panels, keynote sessions and specialist discussions. The programme will welcome Chief Guest Sherif Yehia, Assistant Minister for Development and Digital Transformation, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, alongside Conference Chair Dr. Yasmine Helal, Senior Advisor & Fintech Strategist.

Discussions will explore the implementation of regulatory frameworks, digital banking and payment infrastructure, remote onboarding, financial inclusion and the development of Egypt as a regional fintech hub.

A dedicated Digital Banking Panel will examine how banks, regulators and fintech companies can expand access to underserved communities through mobile money, agent banking, AI and data-driven financial products. Later sessions will look at scaling Egyptian fintech models beyond Cairo into MENA and Africa, including cross-border licensing, funding, governance and sustainable growth.

The forum will also place cybersecurity and resilience at the centre of the digital finance conversation. The Cybersecurity Panel will bring together senior information-security and technology specialists to discuss cyber risk, AML/CFT alignment, AI-driven fraud detection, transaction monitoring, regtech architecture, data governance and cross-border compliance readiness.
